June 18, 2014 — Five elementary students have been recognized for their outstanding art work in a nation-wide contest.
“Of the thousands of entries submitted by schools all over the United States and Canada, five of the top entries were created by our young artists from Glens Falls,” says art teacher Rick Butto. This is the third straight year that Glens Falls students have been recognized at the national level.
Celebrating Art - an institution committed to the promotion of the visual arts created by school children of all ages – recently honored second-graders Jeremiah Encarnacion, Jordan Wilhelm, Abigail Brown, Mackenzie Hubert , and fourth-grader Hannah Brown from Big Cross, along with second-graders Rubi Cope, Aiden Wiggins, Jack Sweet and third-grader Aubrey Versailles from Jackson Heights. These students will have their art work published in the 2014 edition of the CELEBRATING ART full color art book.
Celebrating Art is a nationally-run art contest that juries entries from American and Canadian schools. The published book, which includes school art, represents all forms of media from kindergarten through the 12th grade level.
