The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has awarded Glens Falls’ 2014-15 Boys Soccer team its High School Team Academic Award!
The NSCAA annually recognizes high school soccer programs that
have excelled in the classroom in addition to their work on
“Glens Falls, with a 3.75 GPA for the 2014-15 school year, was one of 149 schools across the country to receive the award,” said Coach Brian Turner. “Only 21 schools recorded higher GPA’s and none of those were from the state of New York. This is an outstanding achievement.”
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year.
“Results-wise we have had a rough few seasons at Glens Falls,” said Coach Turner. “It is important, however, that we all keep the bigger picture in focus. There would not be a Glens Falls High School Soccer team without the school. Academics are the key to the brightest future for all of our athletes. That sort of dedication to academics is far more valuable than any stat or win will ever be.”
Congratulations to all the players, their families, and their teachers.
