At right, fourth-grade students display the holiday cards every class made, along with the snacks, goodies, and treats they collected for soldiers.

The entire fourth grade at Kensington Road School has been busy spreading holiday cheer in December—for a very special group of people.
Students created handmade greeting cards for active-duty members of the military who will spend the holidays deployed and away from their family members. The cards—along with care packages made up of snacks, personal care products, games, and more—are on their way to soldiers serving overseas.
Teacher Ellen Cabana collects contact information for individual members of our armed forces through a school community connection, and takes care of the boxing and shipping. She has been organizing the effort with each fourth-grade class for several years.
