For the second year in a row, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America has awarded the Glens Falls’ Boys Soccer team its High School Team Academic Award!
The NSCAA annually recognizes high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom in addition to their work on the field.
For the 2015-16 school year, the Indians had a a cumulative GPA of 3.68. "Of the 138 boys teams recognized across the country, there were only four teams in New York State," said Coach Brian Turner. "And for the second year running, our boys have the highest average in the state," he continued.
"Academics are by far the best avenue to a successful future. I am very proud to coach a group who has dedicated the time and committed to making sure that their futures have a solid foundation," Coach Turner said.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The previously award-winning 2014-15 Indians Varsity team had a GPA of 3.75.
Congratulations to all the players, their families, and their teachers.
