2019 Odyssey of the Mind teams forming now!

September 14, 2018 — Would your kids like to re-create Leonardo DaVinci’s workshop and reveal one of is “inventions” that never made it to prime time? How about dreaming up and building a ride-on vehicle whose parts travel in suitcases from one scene to another? These endeavors (and more) are challenges in this year's Odyssey of the Mind competition.

Past teams from Glens Falls have competed in regionals (read about that HERE), gone to state-level competitions (read about that HERE), and even competed in the world championships (read about that HERE) … having a lot of fun along the way!

We want YOUR child to join a team for the 2019 competition!

If you’ve ever wondered what Odyssey of the Mind is all about, it’s an international creative problem-solving competition for students from kindergarten through college. Kids work in local teams to develop solutions to problems that range from the technical to the performance to the classical. There’s something for every student!

You can learn more about joining an Odyssey of the Mind team at an informational meeting coming up at WSWHE BOCES: Presentation Slides HERE

coaches needed!

Help make the STEM connection for Glens Falls students by becoming an Odyssey of the Mind Coach! Every team needs an adult coach to supervise them (but not to help them solve the problem). When you volunteer as an Odyssey of the Mind coach, you provide students with an opportunity to use their creativity in ways that they might not get to anywhere else. And it’s a great way to get involved in your child’s learning experience.

Come learn how you can become an Odyssey of the Mind coach! It’s a rewarding experience for kids and adults alike!
