Sweet sound of jazz fills a summer night

August 30, 2013 -- The middle and high school Jazz Ensembles performed in a jazz concert at Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe on Sunday, July 14. The students played a variety of jazz tunes for a very large and appreciative audience on a warm, humid evening, said music teacher Connie Freebern.

Musical selections included “Jumpin' at the Woodside” by Count Basie, “Hip to be Square” by Huey Lewis, and “A String of Pearls” by Jerry Gray.

“Many thanks to the hosts, Gary and Lorraine Mikutel for providing free ice cream for the students and a wonderful setting to continue performing during the summer!" said Ms. Freebern.
