Have you noticed the new plants along the stormwater fencing at Jackson Heights? These native perennials and shrubs aren’t just pretty — they’re working! Their roots will help stabilize soil and absorb water, while their flowers and fruit will provide food for pollinators and wildlife.
Volunteers from the Glens Falls High School Key Club, JH PTA, and teachers and staff all helped with the planting in October. The planting was organized by the JH PTA, with a $1,000 grant from Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District, assistance from Lake George Land Conservancy, and beautiful native plants from Northland Gardens Inc. (including extras donated beyond the grant budget). Thank you to all who helped make the planting possible!
Key Club Volunteers here are Paige Sylvia, Averielle Roberts, Isabella Bullard, Sylvia Guillet, Ava Snyder, Avery Fisher, Angela Morrison, and Lily Wright.
